New Region Strategy and Planning team within AWS Infrastructure aims to plan our new regions and data center builds in new geographies. Complexity of determining our launch strategy in a new location varies and ultimately depends on a number of technical, financial, and local factors that need to be weighed and considered to determine the best approach, timelines… for delivery, and long term growth strategy to scale to meet AWS customer needs. Typical factors include launch footprint, expected demand and capacity utilization, networking topology and cost, and utility infrastructure delivery and costs.
