Be Your Own Nurse: Your Voice

My work is focused on relationships and caring for individuals and groups. What that means is:

  • Speaking with intention, focused on the impact your words have on your self-care (both personal and professional) and your group
  • Listening with attention; keeping your mind clear of thoughts, judgements, criticisms, and fixes; and being the mirror to the person who’s sharing

We have the privilege, responsibility, and opportunity to make our voices heard on November 8, 2022. A human right that is not available to everyone on Earth.

We can speak with intention by voting—paying attention to the impact our vote has on our self-care (both personal and professional) and on the groups that matter to us. We can listen with attention, keeping our minds clear of thoughts, judgments, criticisms, and fixes as the results come in.

Then we can gather and intentionally speak with each other and attentively listen as we discuss what happens next. Together we can make a difference.

Vote.

Dr. Amy E. Rettig provides nursing care for both professional and non-professional caregivers. She presents, publishes and studies well-being (developing the caregiver within) from the perspectives of holism, caring relationships, and systems.
