I was glad to see the news brief entitled Joint Statement warns against criminalizing medical errors. I feel it is imperative that the nursing associations recognize and support individual nurses in a system that is continually overburdening the nursing profession. I would like to see a push for legislation throughout our country that recognizes and protects nurses against criminalization in these types of circumstances. It is important to analyze and improve our work flow to prevent further errors which this situation compounds in a negative manner. Let’s continue to support each other so nursing remains the #1 trusted profession!
