Volkswagen claims the new ID.4 could become one of its most popular models worldwide. Should we scoff, knowing that lots of people are interested in EVs but continue to hold off buying one for all the obvious reasons? Or instead keep an open mind and wonder if by mid-decade the Lavida, Bora, Golf and Tiguan – the brand’s big names of today – will have faded as sales of ID-models surge?
